Collaborative planning for intermodal transport with eco-label preferences

چکیده

Sustainability is a common concern in intermodal transport. Collaboration among carriers may help reducing emissions. In this context, work establishes collaborative planning model for transport and uses eco-labels (a series of different levels emission ranges) to reflect shippers’ sustainability preferences. A mathematical an Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search heuristic are proposed fuzzy set theory used the preferences towards eco-labels. For multiple carriers, centralized, auction-based collaborative, non-collaborative approaches compared. Real data from barge, train truck European Rhine-Alpine corridor extensive experiments where both unimodal carrier collaboration analyzed. Compared with without eco-labels, number served requests increases emissions decrease significantly as capacity better utilized.

Collaborative Planning in Intermodal Freight Transportation

Very few research efforts have been spent on the coordination of plans and operations of independent carriers in an intermodal transportation chain. The impact of this lack of collaboration and coordination is shown in an accordant scenario and first ideas are presented to overcome this situation following the principles of decentralized planning.

Planning Problems in Intermodal Freight Transport: Accomplishments and Prospects

Intermodal freight transport has received an increased attention due to problems of road congestion, environmental concerns and traffic safety. A growing recognition of the strategic importance of speed and agility in the supply chain is forcing firms to reconsider traditional logistic services. As a consequence, research interest in intermodal freight transportation problems is growing. This p...

Enhanced Shortest Path Computation for Multiagent-based Intermodal Transport Planning in Dynamic Environments

This paper addresses improved urban mobility using multiagent simulation. We provide a description of the agent model and the routing infrastructure as a step towards a rich model of the interactions that happen in intermodal transport planning tasks. The multiagent model is generic in the sense that different public and individual transport agents and transportation agencies can be added and p...

HTN Planning with Preferences

In this paper we address the problem of generating preferred plans by combining the procedural control knowledge specified by Hierarchical Task Networks (HTNs) with rich user preferences. To this end, we extend the popular Planning Domain Definition Language, PDDL3, to support specification of simple and temporally extended preferences over HTN constructs. To compute preferred HTN plans, we pro...

Planning with Preferences

ularly as they relate to deciding how to act. As such, it comes as no surprise that preferences also play a significant role in AI automated planning, providing a means of specifying those properties of a plan that distinguish it as high quality. Given some task to be achieved, users may have preferences over what goals to achieve and under what circumstances. They may also have preferences ove...
